New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day

The following message applies to employees who use the Time and Labor system or a paper timesheet to report time worked or time taken as leave.

It does not apply to Adjunct Faculty.

Campus business offices are closed
Wednesday, December 31, 2014 and Thursday, January 1, 2015

For Pay Period 12/21/14 – 1/3/15:

  • The deadline for Time and Labor Time Entry is Monday, January 5th at 5:00pm.
  • The deadline for Time and Labor Approval is Wednesday, January 7th at 10:00am.

Classified Employees, For Time Entry On Your Time Sheet:

  • You will receive two days of holiday pay for Wednesday and Thursday (HOL); do not code anything on these two days.
  • For benefit-eligible employees:
    1. Record nothing if you did not work on Wednesday, December 31st or Thursday, January 1st. If you did work, record your hours as either HOA (to accrue comp time) or HOW (to be paid holiday overtime).
  • For non-benefit-eligible employees:
    1. Record nothing if you did not work Wednesday, December 31st or Thursday, January 1st If you did work, please record your hours as RET (regular hours worked).
  • If Wednesday or Thursday is your normal or usual day off, you are allowed to switch to another day off for the holiday as long as:
    1. The hours switched are in the same work week, or
    2. The hours switched match hour for hour.
    3. You will receive two days of holiday pay for Wednesday and Thursday (HOL); do not code anything on the day you do not work in exchange.
  • Faculty and Professional Staff Employees:

  • You will receive two days of holiday pay for Wednesday and Thursday (HOL); do not code anything on these two days.
